Other blogs hosting organization parties for the new year:
A Bowl Full of Lemons {in conjunction with lots of other blogs}
Peter Walsh {on Facebook}
Delightful Order
Apartment Therapy
Here's how the challenges will work:
- You follow along, completing what you feel comfortable with and tweaking whatever you need to make it work for you. I, by no means, expect you to follow along with me and do everything the same way. Not every idea I have works for everyone. Make it work for you!
- There's no set schedule for each day. So if you miss a day, or jump in later on, you can just choose where to begin. Anyone can join in at any time.
- At the end of the month {during the last week} you can share your progress on The Nest Effect. I'll have a link party set up, so if you have a blog, you can link up. If you don't blog, commenting works just as well.
- I want these challenges to be helpful for everyone. I encourage you to leave comments, share blog posts, email me, etc. We can all learn from each other - so if you have an idea, please share!
- If you have any questions, please ask!
I will be back tomorrow with the first post for the January planning series! Today Chris and I are searching through the apartment for items to donate. Our goal for 2013 is to simplify in our lives.
Here's the schedule I decided on for 2013. Each month I will focus on a different area. I hope this is helpful for you! {This schedule is tentative. I may change it, if need be.}

Hi Tiffany, I just found your blog. The last two hours have been spent reading! I'm going to jump into your 2013 Challenge, only because I THINK I'm organized, then find address labels in with the bills I've paid, and with the Christmas cards I'm putting away, and realize I'm not really as organized as I think I am. January is a good month for me to start, as I will out of work all month on medical leave. I started on my own a couple of days ago, color-coding my calendar: M is Finances, T is Reading, W is crafts, T is cleaning/organizing, & F is Food. Let's get this party started!
ReplyDeleteTiffany, Very excited to join in all the fun with you this year! I have started attacking the problem areas in my home. I've made my own monthly schedule because I have some areas in my home that I need to get to first for my own sanity. =) Like for example I'm focusing on my kitchen this month. Can I link up to my info about my kitchen reorganizing, when you share in May?
ReplyDeleteHi MrsA518 -
ReplyDeleteColor coding your calendar is a great way to start off the new year! Welcome and good luck to you!
Hi Carrie -
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Any blog posts you have that apply to each month's challenges can be linked up. It's a great way to share tips and ideas with everyone. =]
Looking forward to this challenge. Looking for ideas to re-vamp my current organizational systems.
ReplyDeleteHey Tiffany,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back posting often again! I love your tips and tricks. I was wondering if I could link up via a Youtube video, possibly? I have a channel (not connected to this Google account), and I mentioned one of my resolutions was to get organized. So, if I end up making a video, would that be okay, too?
Excited to get started!
Hi staceunoia -
ReplyDeleteYou could definitely link up with a video! I'd love to see it! Good luck!
Tiffany
