I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania -- 30 miles North of a little city named Scranton (ever heard of Dunder Mifflin?) At the age of 18, my fiance, Chris, and I moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah. We just wanted to go "away" for college, so there's not really a specific reason as to why we chose here. We started dating in January of 2004 and have been together ever since. =]
It's nice that we're from the same area, because we can travel together for holidays. Well, really we only ever go back to PA for Christmas, so I guess holidays should not be plural.
Chris and I are getting married on June 11 back in Pennsylvania at my Dad's house. We've decided to only travel to PA during the summer from here on out because Christmas plane tickets are expensive, and it's cold and nasty in PA in December. Why not go back in the summer when we can enjoy the pool at my Dad's house?
I have one younger brother who also moved out here with his girlfriend to go to school. It's a real party, let me tell ya. Ha!
I'm finishing up my last semester in college and will graduate May 6 with my teaching certificate and degree in elementary education. I absolutely love teaching. I couldn't have chosen a better career.
We have a dog named Jazz. We adopted him in January 2009 and he's 4 years old. He's just too good of a dog. We are so lucky.
I love organizing and always have since I was a little girl. I enjoy sale/deal shopping and always have my coupons in tow. I started a blog called Real Simple Saving Methods in February 2009. I love all things technology and find it hard to resist buying the new gadgets that come out. I so badly want a tablet, but they're just too expensive right now.
I started The Nest Effect for fun. I love organizing, cleaning, and DIY projects. I feel like I should have a super creative side since I live in Utah. So many of the home blogs I follow are written by other who reside here and they're just SO creative. I wish I could find my creative side to join in! Ha ha!
I could really go on and on about myself...but I won't. Perhaps I'll tell you more at a later date. =]

So I'm reading your post and yep, you are from right around the corner of where I grew up too! My hometown is Waverly, PA. Heck, at least people now have a way to associate where you grew up, yes home of The Office:) Otherwise people assume I lived in Philly or the Poconos. I just visited a friend in AZ and went shopping and the owner of the store was from Scranton. Strange little world we live in...
