January Challenge: Check In and a Free Printable

It's about time to wrap up the January Challenge. If you've been following along all month, then you probably feel ready to begin bigger challenges within your home in the coming months!

I don't have a challenge today, but have some info and a free printable to give.

If you have forms that you've used this month from the challenge, and you don't want to keep them, go ahead and recycle them. No need to keep paper clutter around that you no longer need!

While this month's challenge wasn't one that required you to organize or clean anything in your home, it was a nice way to start off the year with a fresh perspective on what is important to you, and how you can conquer what you need and want to get done by scheduling it in. Do you feel at least a little bit less overwhelmed by what's ahead of you? (I know I do!)

This week I felt the need to create a mini to-do today checklist. My school to-dos each day are just piling up, so this will be super helpful. This document has 4 mini checklists on one sheet. You can easily print the sheet and cut the lists apart if you wish.

On Thursday, January 26, I'll be back with a giveaway post. You can enter the giveaway (which nicely goes along with this month's challenge and next month's) by reporting your progress from this month's challenge. I am SO excited for this giveaway...and next month's challenge. Here's a hint: it was one of the most requested topics for a challenge.

  5. Thanks for the great info and the great printables!! Here is a question for you and your readers....we are getting ready to move into a 3 bed 2.5 ba , almost 2000SF townhome (from a 1 bed apt!). I have two stepdaughters, so they will get one of the bedrooms, then the master and we'll have a guest room. I want to start out by being organized...what are your best tips? I have a lot of "stuff" and a lot of "paper stuff" that I need to go through, scan in to my computer, and organize. We are on a limited budget so I need to be creative with everything!! :) Thanks again for your blog! I love keeping up with you!!

  6. Thanks to everyone for sharing their progress! I'm so glad the mini to-do lists are going to be useful!

    @ Jess -

Moving is the best time to get organized and declutter! When packing things up, start early so you can take your time going through things and getting rid of what you no longer want/need. I wouldn't purchase anything new for your home until you move in and assess the space with your current "stuff" all put away. I've previously purchased way too many organization tools from being so excited to have a new place to organize. Organization on a budget is simple because you can easily repurpose food containers and boxes. Simply paint or cover with pretty paper (scrapbook or wrapping) and it's a whole new storage bin/box!

  7. I am feeling so much more organized! I discovered your site at the end of December, and it was perfect timing! I recently took on two more jobs (for a total of three part-time ones), plus we are moving in six months. Thus, I really felt the need to get organized! I love your printables, and the monthly challenges. I feel like my house is much more organized, as is my work. Now on to my finances...

  9. Have really enjoyed the challenge this month. I have tackled some cleaning jobs that were put off for to long. The priority list helped me find the balance I crave so I am most grateful to you.

It also inspired me to update my sewing project worksheet which you can find at www.sewingcafewithlynne.blogspot.com. In case you want to organize your sewing projects, after all turnabout is fair play.

    Thanks my dear
